WDRO is run by a competent and professional staff headed by the Executive Director, elected by the board of directors. Currently, WDRO has more than 45 staff members working in different parts of the region mainly in Fafan, Shabelle, korahay, Jarrar, Doolo, Nogob, Erer, Liban and Siti. WDRO has eight offices including regional and field offices in the region.
WDRO Vision: To provide a broad range of quality humanitarian and development services including, creation of a holistic community where every person attains the right to survival, protect and participation in local development.
WDRO prioritizes primary health care as the main approach to improving health outcomes for the target beneficiaries in Somali region in Ethiopia. Primary health care underscores the importance of whole-person care for most health needs throughout the lifespan of an individual, ensuring that everyone can receive comprehensive care ─ ranging from health promotion and prevention to treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care ─ as close as possible to where they live. WDRO works with community health worker to: promote good health in the community working through families, schools, community leaders, community health committees and women groups; organize and strengthening communities to be able to take control of their own health; provide essential information and preventive and promotive services to prevent ill health


Our approach is participatory, practical, creative and collaborative. We listen and integrate our beneficiaries’ experiences in designing practical interventions in a dynamic development environment. Our focus is on meeting beneficiary needs through practical interventions. We have a core team of professional staff who offer technical knowledge, insights and expertise in overall development programming. We ensure quality control, value for money and better results to both beneficiaries and donors.
