One daytraining on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) was provided to 13 participants, including staff from WDRO, Woreda BoWCA, and Woreda Health Office. This important initiative was conducted with the technical support of UNICEF, who also played a key role in delivering the training and equipping participants with the necessary skills and tools to prevent, identify, and respond to cases of sexual exploitation and abuse.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of core PSEA principles, their individual and organizational responsibilities, and the importance of maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to sexual exploitation and abuse. Through interactive sessions, case-based discussions, and practical exercises, participants learned how to recognize warning signs, engage with survivors in a safe and ethical manner, and utilize proper reporting and referral mechanisms.
By the end of the training, participants demonstrated increased knowledge and commitment to upholding protection standards and ensuring that humanitarian actions do no harm. This initiative represents a significant step toward building a safeguarding culture within WDRO and across local institutions, reinforcing our collective responsibility to protect vulnerable women, children, and community members from exploitation and abuse
