On June 30, 2025, a capacity-building training was conducted in Babile Woreda for 30 influential community members, including 8 women and 17 men, such as leaders of women’s associations, community structures, and established committees. Facilitated by the organization’s gender focal person, the training aimed to deepen understanding of the health, psychological, and social consequences of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Child Marriage (CM), reduce and prevent these harmful practices, and equip participants with the knowledge and skills to challenge them. It also promoted human rights and gender equality, explained referral pathways, highlighted the community’s role in case finding, and outlined procedures for providing initial support and counseling to survivors.
